Venue & Facilities

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Tea, juice and snacks are fine. Some guests bring tempura etc. to go with the eat-here option — that’s okay, though we can’t provide extra tableware for it.

Alcohol may not be brought in (and we can’t admit anyone who is intoxicated).

There’s no vending machine on site.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

You’re welcome to come by wheelchair. As it’s a slippers-only venue, we’ll wipe the wheels and you can enter as you are. Please note it is not a barrier-free facility:

  • There are 3 steps at the building entrance (an elevator is available once you’re up them).
  • There’s no accessible toilet inside.
  • The worktable may clash with wheelchair armrests, making it hard to get close (table 68 cm high, 71 cm wide).
  • You wash your hands several times before, during and after; the sink is in the room next door, one step up.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Can I bring a pet?

We’re sorry, but pets aren’t allowed inside, and we have nowhere to look after them.

Can I store my luggage during the class?

We have very limited space, so please avoid bringing large suitcases if possible — for example, leave them at your hotel or station before coming.

We can keep a few small bags, but we cannot accommodate a whole group arriving with large travel suitcases. There are no coin lockers nearby.

May I take photos and videos?

Please do take photos and videos of everyone enjoying themselves! There are no limits on filming for personal use.

Please avoid tripods (monopods and selfie sticks are fine), and take care not to disturb other guests.

Filming for streaming or broadcast is generally not allowed. We may permit it only when no other guests are present — please contact us in advance. We can’t redo parts of the class for filming or ask the instructor for special comments, and if it disrupts the class the instructor may stop it (treated as a same-day cancellation).
